Welcome and getting started

Welcome! Introduce yourself here ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here ๐Ÿ™‚

And with sleep, in the past, I really struggled with sleep. I kept telling myself to sleep and if I didn't, i'd get more worked up and even less able to sleep!

Nowadays, if I don't sleep I let myself know that it's okay. It seems that once I'm okay with it, I can get up, do something and then go to sleep, even if it later. Give yourself some self-love ๐Ÿ™‚

By sharing these experiences, I hope you glean something. Because yes, sleep is so important too.

Good on you for having a bite to eat ๐Ÿ™‚ @Vyv

A shy introduction.

Hi, new here. I was diagnosed with bpd about 3 years ago and despite it not being a shock (I was always a 'problem' child) it still controls my everyday life.

I moved to Aus almost 5 years ago from London, I have a background in art but I now work as youth worker although I can't work regularly because of my health.

I love the outdoors and connecting with poeple but I don't know many poeple here.

Re: A shy introduction.

welcome @bl25 !! it's lovely to have you here. moving to Aus sounds like a big change, i've always wanted to visit London.

youth worker sounds like a really meaningful role - even if you can't work regularly, the fact that you try anyways means a lot. background in art - like visual art? or like humanities art?

i look forward to connecting with you ๐Ÿ’™

Re: A shy introduction.

Hi Raven, thanks for reaching out.

Sometimes I'll hear the birds chirp and I can't believe I live somewhere else. I was so lucky to grow up there, I think everyone should go.

It's a thankless job let me tell you that haha it's crazy to me that most managers have no support for their workers. I used to advocate for youth workers a lot too but I'm too tired lately.

And art a mix of everything but I worked as a photograpger. One of my favourite memories was shooting ldn fashion week or the zine my friends and I created.
My sister went to uni for history of art so yeah

I'm excited to get to know you ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: A shy introduction.

Hi @tyme,

Thank you so much for the Bpd forum, i was looking for one but i guess i missed it. It'll be really helpful so thanks again.

You're right at my best I've described it as my super power because of how I'm able to connect with people differently and understand them deeply without having to be in their shoes. My friend always says how deeply empathetic i am and I'm good at bringing poeple together. I hadn't thought about that in a while and one of the best ways i manage my bpd is through positive self talk.

[Edited by mod] I am a 50 year old, single female and can finally say that I am living a simple yet happy and content life... but most of all, I am so extremely grateful to be alive  โ˜บ๏ธ
