@petrichor Hope you have a better day.
I definitely need to get offline regularly.
Learning to speak through the overwhelm is difficult. Sometimes I do not know what will come out of my mouth. Getting practise in speaking one's self is important. I have a weird feeling that my frontal cortex is slowly coming together and connecting with my mouth. I am old and educated and it feels very weird.
Take Care

"Touching grass" seems to be growing phrase in the online community. It's an apt phrase. Take care everyone.

@cloudcore thank you.
Day was not good. Didn’t last long being offline. I think it’s weird when I don’t really talk to anyone. I think my brain forgot some time ago that it has a frontal cortex.
@wellwellwellnez What is touching the grass?

My head keeps spinning. I think I’ll have to go back on the meds I stopped but I’m never sure because there is a lot of reason for my head to spin, I just never know and it makes me angry that I don’t. What is normal, what is triggered, what is bipolar, what is… I talked to helpline today, it helped. Not to solve my problems but it helped me ground. I’ll survive another day 🙂

Evening @petrichor,
I'm the peer support worker on shift till 10pm tonight and I just wanted to say how amazing I think you are. You've gone through SO much, and you keep putting one foot in front of the other. That is true courage and strength.
So pleased too that you had a great call with the helpline earlier today – sometimes it helps to speak to someone who cares and who will listen.
Please feel free to reach out tonight. I share a similar history and I know how hard some days (sometimes weeks and months) can be 💙

@petrichor "touching the grass" is "spending less time online" which I happened to take personally. So I'll take the hint but want to assure you you're definitely not alone and I'm so very sorry for your situation and the dysfunctional politics being cynically played out in the leadup to the election. There have been, are, and will be many people hurt.

or a bit a bread and egg ...
Regulating my online time is by no means easy nor do I have discipline I once had ... before I know it I am back on again ... but not wasting time on repeated news rubbish ...
Take Care Mate

Hi @Former-Member
thank you. I don’t feel courageous or strong,
what does a peer support worker do?
