Hi
@Faith-and-HopeSure no worries, for me it's taken me many years to be able to study full time. I tried before but my attention would trail off into something else, I find it very hard to stick to one thing. Even now I detect rogue thoughts giving me ideas to start another course but I know my pattern and I stay on track. They say when you hit mid thirties, ADD becomes a bit easier to deal with because the brain matures some how - this is true for me, I still struggle but it's a bit easier to be consistent.
In regards to your husband having the TV on, yes I need a white noise in my bedroom to sleep, also having a non specific machine noise does help me concentrate on other tasks but oddly, I cannot concentrate on other things if the TV is on in the background it drives me bonkers! Especially when adverts come on! Everyone's ADD is different though I believe. Have I interpreted your question correctly?
