Oh @NatureLover your inspections seem to come around at a rapid pace! I feel for you my friend and I know there are no quick answers.
Take it slowly, one space at a time like the Flylady.net says "baby steps", it didn't get this way overnight and it won't be perfect overnight.
Maybe do some each day then the day before go for a covid test and say you're in iso for 7 days...naughty, naughty. I know you would never be dishonest so I don't really suggest you do that.
I had to clean out a room yesterday as my niece has come to visit for a couple of days and that was stressful enough. I ended up filling the wardrobe with what had been lying around but the room is cleaned.
Renting is stressful and inspections are such an invasion of privacy so I will send my cleaning fairies to assist those that @Anastasia has sent to help share the task.
I'm cheering you on sweetheart.....today being the 12th try doing 12 things in each room and going through your home that way.
Lots of love and support

@NatureLover I really feel for you. While I don’t rent anymore I had about 20 years of inspections and absolutely hated them. So intrusive and so stressful. Some real estates were so awful too. I used to get so stressed every inspection and drive myself and my kids nuts preparing for them. I used to take quite a while to prepare for them too as I am not a fantastic housekeeper by any stretch.
5 days notice is not enough, it used to be always 7 days here. And remote inspections sound awful. I know how you feel about your fears of being homeless as I always had that fear too. Both in terms of inspections and lease renewals.
Inspections really are difficult to cope with, especially if you are not well and in pain. Hopefully even if the house is not up to scratch by the time the inspection comes hopefully they will note that you are making an effort and give you some leeway.
I can understand your reluctance to get a cleaner too - I would be too if I saw them using the same gloves for the two tasks you mentioned!! Awful 😞 I can’t stand the same cloth being used for two tasks regardless of what they are.
I am thinking of you and sending positive vibes and gentle hugs. 💕💕❤️💕💕❤️

Hi @Anastasia I haven’t been around much recently but feel for you. Please take as much time as needed to get better. You definitely need more than a few hours!

Oh @NatureLover Im so sorry to see this. God house inspections are the worst aren’t they. Im shit*ing myself waiting on when mine is going to be. I put stuff in boxes and hide them in all my empty kitchen cupboards and then loiter around uncomfortably in there so they don’t look in the cupboards.
The cleaner with the gloves thing makes me sick too @NatureLover that is so effed up that someone who literally gets paid to clean used toilet gloves to wash dishes. Dear lord.

@pancakes Thank you so much for your understanding and empathy, I really appreciate it.
I usually stash stuff in the oven or the microwave but other than that my house is crammed full. I did put 5 boxes full of mess in my neighbour's shed yesterday.

Aww, @Lilly6 , I so appreciate your support and understanding ❤️ thank you
Yes, it took me 26 hours to prepare for the last inspection...I haven't got 26 hours this time 😣
Thank you for the positive vibes and hugs 💜

I had to laugh - you're right, I hate being dishonest and I suck at lying! Plus it's a remote inspection using technology - I take the photos myself and upload them according to their programme.
I'm glad you were able to get your niece's room ready by stashing stuff in the cupboard 😄
Thank you for the love, support and cleaning fairies, you've warmed my heart.💛

Thank you for your simply lovely supportive post, @Anastasia - I do feel bad with what you're going through, leaning on you 😞
Thanks for remembering my distress last time and for your empathy.
Thanks for the cleaning fairies. ❤️ They really helped yesterday and you made me giggle about talking sternly to them.
I've done 4 hours on Friday and 4 1/2 hours yesterday. Last inspection the preparation took 26 hours, so I'm still not doing enough despite being exhausted and sore. I don't think I can do more than that, so I put 5 boxes' worth of mess in my lovely neighbour's shed (yes, the anti-vaxxer - I told you she was a good neighbour), and have got the house to what a normal person might consider sort-of tidy. Still no cleaning done yet! The bleach is going on the shower this morning.
Can't tell you how supportive I found your post, thank you again. 💚

Hi @HenryX , thanks for your support and for the suggestion of doing one room at a time. I also thought that might work, the first time I did a remote inspection in 2020. They use technology that is pre-programmed, you log in and then upload photos, then submit the inspection report. However, the programme goes directly from room to room, so you can't do one room at a time, then submit the photos then log off, unfortunately. (At least, I hope I've understood your suggestion correctly)
They are using this technology due to Covid risk, however the technology is clunky and what should take 10 minutes takes an hour as the programme rejects the photos and goes back to the start each time! Very frustrating.
