Believe it or not @WIP , as much as you feel I am supporting you, you are actually supporting me. These forums are an outlet for me. I am reminded of how far I've come in my mental health journey, and it is my desire to support others because I appreciate the challenges mental health brings.
I struggled to find support for my BPD because I was so 'normal' on the outside, yet nobody saw the agony I was in internally. Therapists brushed over me and I thought I should 'just get over it'. Eventually after moving states, I found a specialised treatment service. It was my last resort. It was hard and grueling, but I stuck to it.
I'm amongst an elite, professional society whereby mental health talk is a taboo. It's sad, and many do not understand mental health until it hits somewhere close to home. These forums allow me to talk about and be who I really am - mental health is not a respecter of persons - it can affect anybody, just differently.
So, @WIP , thank you reaching out in these forums. It encourages me to go on no matter how dark things may seem. There is light... Just need to wait for it.
Take care,
BPDSurvivor
