Many people consider panic attacks and anxiety attacks to be the same without having an awareness of it. Anxiety attacks and panic attacks are different, though they share some similarities. Panic attacks are sudden, intense episodes of fear or discomfort that peak within minutes and involve physical symptoms like a racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness, or a sense of impending doom. They often occur unexpectedly, even without a clear trigger. Anxiety attacks, on the other hand, are commonly used to describe prolonged periods of excessive worry or fear. They build up gradually in response to stress and typically involve symptoms like restlessness, muscle tension, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. Unlike panic attacks, which are brief but intense, anxiety attacks can last for hours or even days.
