Hello!

I've worked as a mental health peer worker for Metro South Health, a geographical division of Queensland Health, in Brisbane from 2020 to 2024. I worked in an outpatient clinic team that focused on suicide prevention, a residential rehabilitation facility called a Community Care Unit (CCU), and a hospital psychiatric ward.

In July this year I resigned in order to have more time to help my Mum care for my Dad, who has had some mobility constraints, and to focus on my psychology studies. I might return to peer work during the Honours stage of my studies - I might do that component of the program part-time, which would give me the time to do some peer work.  I'd like to become a Clinical Psychologist eventually. I've enjoyed my peer work roles, especially in the CCU, where I had the chance to help people over a longer time frame and to see their progress.
