Hi @tonys , it's maddison here!

I got your letter in my notifications. Well done on learning how to tag people.

Don't worry about being 'a few sheep short' as you describe it! I can understand what you mean about your doctor saying that you present well & therefore people don't realise your intellectual disability.

You are doing so well. It must be quite an enormous effort. I know when I first started on here, I felt quite overwhelmed. There are so many new people and messages & different sections of the website to look at. It has taken me a few months of using the site regularly & I still feel confused, & forget who people are. Also, as you mentioned - it is so much harder online, than via phone or in person. It's easy to get people mixed up, because we can't see each other!

Thankyou for explaining how your learning works & how your brain injury effects you. It seems to be about retaining the information that is most difficult. The next day, you need to 're learn' things, until eventually it sticks. I can only imagine that it must be be very frustrating at times. I'm sorry that you have to go through this.

I can understand that it would also knock your confidence around a bit & make it scary to interact with people. Sometimes life is not fair! I think if people got to know you, you would be a great person to have around!

I am not very social either, I can understand the lonliness.

Well, I hope I haven't made you sad! Oops..I personally think you are doing great on here & I know other members would agree. Well done, again!

I hope you enjoyed reading my letter. You don't have to respond. Take it easy & I would also be amused watching the animals eat the cream buns! Sounds tasty.
