I just get angry when i read your story, RUN dont walk to your house in the country!  I too used to hide in my car from my husband, your family sound horrible.  They will miss YOU, someone to blame or whatever, i don't know, but if you can get your peace of mind, go for it.  I used to get terrible anxiety and panic attacks before I left my husband.  Now I am fine, on my own.  You need to be around people who will treat you properly and there are plenty of nice people out there. Don't be afraid, you need to set up boundaries for your family, maybe don't tell them where you are, and only visit them when you feel like it. You need to take your power back.
