Re: Burnout

Hello @Busymum2025 and welcome to the forums. Completely understand the feeling all too well so you are not alone in this. Although I don't feel like I'm going crazy, but rather I've already gone crazy 😂.

Always here if you ever want to chat. Take care of yourself 😊

Re: Burnout

Hey, thanks for your reply, I am a single busy mum of 5. I have family around but I basically do it all on my own!
I have an 18 year old who has finished school. 16 year old twins a 10 and a 9 year old. I have just started a new job and found out we have to move b4 November. My kids all play sports every night of the week except mondays and play sport saturdays and sundays! I have a very clingy 9 year old that doesn’t really let me out of his sight. Most days I’m on auto pilot and just existing and not living. It’s lonley but I can’t be bothered to go out and catch up with friends cause I am always to exhausted. I keep telling myself it’s not forever but it feels like an eternity.

Re: Burnout

Oh hun. @Busymum2025 . I totally hear you! I'm hear how tough and busy life is and you just want to 'have a break'!

Here's a hug for you. HUG

I here this is no time for yourself.

Is your eldest about to mind the kids for even an hour or so, so that you can have a small break? I know you said you are going it on your own, but any family members who can lend a hand?

I take off my hat to you. Kids are not easy. Twins are not easy. A clingy kid is not easy!

What DO you do for time out?

Re: Burnout

@Busymum2025 it sounds as if your life is very busy. You do an amazing job keeping up with five children. I'm a school teacher and I know how difficult it can be.

My brain...it just kind of fizzes out and heavy brain fog rolls in, but at least a couple of times a day, I feel like I'm going to explode from my chest...so, I can relate.

Re: Burnout

Hey @Busymum2025 , How are you going today?

Ho, sorry about the late reply. I’m doing ok. Thank you

Re: Burnout

@Busymum2025 ….. hearing you.

one of my twins is sick right now, so I am a bit absent from the forums.

my best advice ?  Set up systems and routines in the house.  The kids start to follow them, and then own them.  My grown up kids now adapt what I had going on to suit their own houses.  It creates a regular, stable rhythm in the house, like a heartbeat, so when it starts to go out of kilter, call on the kids to help put it back in order, cos it’s the best thing.

Even littlies can follow simple systems and routines.  Start with one, and build on it - like set the table for breakfast the night before.  Cereal during the week, something more creative on weekends …..

See how you go.  Hang in there, it gets better ❣️
