Cook Along

Re: Cook Along

I also find that lasagne tastes nice once it's been in its sauce for a while @Oaktree . Do you think so?

Re: Cook Along

Re: Cook Along

Hi @Oaktree @tyme @Former-Member @Owlunar2 @Glisten @ENKELI @Blackbird11

Here is my Sweet and Sour Recipe

Chicken marinated

500g of chicken thighs cut into bite-size pieces.

3 garlic cloves crushed

1 tbsp of grated ginger

2 tbsp light soy sauce

1 tbsp of sesame oil

Coating

150 to 170 g of cornflour

salt and pepper

Sauce

2/3 of a cup of vinegar

2 tbsp of soy sauce

2 tbsp of tomato sauce

4 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce

8 tbsp of white sugar

1/2 tsp of salt if you want

2 tsp of grated ginger

Veg

Carrot, onion, capsicum, pineapple

Method

  • Once the chicken is cut and coated, the ingredients are mixed. Then add cornflour.
  • Mix sauce ingredients together and set aside
  • Chop veg
  • Cook chicken in batches in the air fryer at 180 for 6 to 10 minutes. Spray with olive oil spray. Transfer to a wire wrack with some paper towel.
  • Heat oil in a casserole dish, fry pan, etc.
  • Cook the onion until translucent. Add the carrot and cook for a few minutes. Then add the capsicum and, lastly, add the pinnable.
  • Add sauce and cook until thickened. If not thickened enough, add a cornflour slurry with water. Then add chicken and toss through.
  • Serve with rice of choice.

Re: Cook Along

@Birdofparadise8 thanks for the recipe princess, it's definitely a keeper.

I'm going to write it out and put in my recipe book. I'll call it (first name)'s Sweet & Sour chicken 🫂💙👸

Re: Cook Along

That sounds like a good idea @ENKELI

Re: Cook Along

My brain erased vanilla from my memory and sight.
I used to make pancakes and shortbread with double the amount of vanilla because the ex loved it.
It wasn’t until I read it in someone else’s post, that the word vanilla came back into memory. Weird 🤷🏼‍♀️

Re: Cook Along

Dry white wine in the sausage rolls!? Ahhh, this must be the secret ingredient @Oaktree ! Might have to give this recipe a go 😛 Thanks for sharing!
