Has anyone ever tried self help EMDR therapy? I was doing research and the below website came up. Just wanting to know people's experiences with it. I wouldn't stop my psychologist EMDR sessions but just wondering if this could compliment them during appointment waiting times.

Interesting @Ed1975 , I’ll wait to see other members’ experiences as I feel this has been a discussion in the past.

@Ed1975 seems to be a business model with an ongoing subscription and extra fees for personal coaching. Dunno how they get such a remarkable response after just one session, for most people EMDR therapy is protracted and onerous. With psychological support needed to cope with the stress and after-effects of revisiting longheld trauma. I needed preparation and processing time, not just the EMDR procedure.
I'm also cautious because the site claims efficacy for so many conditions including anxiety and depression. In my experience each EMDR procedure targeted memories of only one specific event so I'm not sure how this virtual snake oil works more broadly.
Happy to hear other views.

Yep @Dimity , after my first session I was down in the dumps and had a massive migraine for 3 days afterwards.

I hope it's getting easier for you @Ed1975 and it's starting to help.
I only got halfway through my program before I was discharged (time ran out but I was too complex anyway as I also had medical problems at the time).

@Dimity not yet. I'm only 2 sessions in. Last one was day before yesterday and migraine has kicked in today. I'm anticipating mine going for at least 6 months, if not longer. I get the concept, but unsure if it is going to have an effect on 45 year trauma.

Take it slowly @Ed1975 . I remember my psychologist asking me to describe where I was carrying the pain of remembering. A migraine is pretty intense, I hope it eases for you soon.
Do you have friends or a companion animal to reach out to? You have a backstop here too.

@Dimity no friends or animal. My ex has been really supportive and seeing my son every day is helping keeping me grounded. I don't know where I'd be without them, tbh.
