Hi all  My name is Chris.  I've had a rough couple of years, and am actually talking to my GP about talking to some one now.  I just saw the FB ad and thought, I like being part of communities, so I'll try this.  I tried beyond blue and enjoyed encouraging other people but found no one really wanted to reply when I posted so I drifted away.....

Hello @Chris1969. I'm pleased you've found your way here but sorry you needed to. Sometimes it can happen that posts don't get a reply, but that is rare. If I'm online and I see that happening, I usually jump in and say something because we can take no replies personally, can't we? And disheartening people reaching out is not what we are about. I haven't tried Beyond Blue myself, but I've found great people here.

Thanks for the reply.  I did the same on that forum, filtered for no replies and just tried to make sure everyone got support.

I've been keeping an eye out to ensure that you were being looked after @Chris1969, and it is surprising that there has been so little response to your post to now. I am truly sorry and hope that there will be others who join you soon. I don't know if you have taken the time to have a look around the site and see the specific needs subjects being discussed. Hi.  I live with my son and his girlfriend.  She hates me, he tries to give me a bit of time.  My mentally ill son lives in a house I'm paying for, I see him once a week.  My wife and I are struggling, I see her every two weeks or so.  Last year I made a number of friends who have all drifted away one way or another

Your mentally ill son is extremely lucky to have stable housing from you. 

How difficult to live with someone who hates you 😞

Thanks for the tip.  Yeah, they are kids so I am the adult but it makes things hard, mostly because my son tries to juggle some time for me, but I am alone most of the time
