Something’s not right

My Mosaic

Re: My Mosaic

Argh today has been busy and full on. Just curled up on my bed in front of the AC and fan having some down time.

This morning I went to my D’s end of year school assembly. I was told a couple of weeks ago that she was getting an award, but it was a surprise for her. I had assumed that it was one of the class awards, they have like class citizenship, most improved etc etc. But her class came and went and her name didn’t get called out. She must of been getting an extra special award! She was awarded a CAPA award- creative and practical arts! So proud of her!!

Then I went and picked up my meds for the trip. So thankful that the Webster pack lady was able to reduce my meds down from 2 packs a week to just the one. Won’t take up as much room.

Had to do a couple of other things and then I headed to my last schema group.

It was a pretty light session. They didn’t wanna do anything really heavy. But we got our photo back of our younger self. We did a few little exercises with that including saying out loud to our younger self ‘I got you’. I’ve struggled the whole 7mths to look at that photo of myself. It’s still a struggle, but it’s been getting easier. I sat there today and thought… I want to care for you. I want you to feel safe. I want you to feel heard. That you matter in this world.
We were then each given a card- it’s got a cat on the front with a pink feather scarf. Everyone else then wrote some healthy adult words in the card for us. That was really nice. Kinda like warm fuzzies.
Then we were all given a gift- a weighted sloth. It is so soft and squishy and its weightedness is really cool.
Im sad it’s over. But so thankful I had the opportunity to attend and participate.

2 sleeps now! Tomorrow I’m getting my nails done. And grabbing a few last minute things from the shops.

Re: My Mosaic

Oh I wanted to show you my sloth and card. Cats have been a bit of a theme for our group. We often needed to have a happy child moment to regulate ourselves after a heavy exercise or something and we most often just watched funny cat videos- all 3 of us participants have cats. The facilitator tries to find a weighted cat, but she couldn’t. so here is my weighted sloth and cat card!

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow I'm glad your last group went well.

I love the sloth and cat card. They are adorable.

Well done to D too. She must take after her mum 💗💗

Good that you got all your meds.

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Jynx @Snowie

Yes D was very excited to receive the award. It also came with a book voucher, which she went and cashed in at school, picking a dragon book of course.

It was actually a really nice way to end the group. I was a bit anxious about going, knowing that we always do a check in and I was just not wanting to do that today. So was thankful that we didn’t.

I had a bit of a chat with my SW on the way home, but we were both driving, so it was short.

not sure how I’m going to get my nails @Jynx

@how was your days?

Re: My Mosaic

So glad D was excited about her award @Bow

She must love dragons!!!

That will be a nice treat, getting your nails done.

I do love sloths. I have a weighted blanket but not a weighted plush toy.

Do these groups continue for next year?

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow awww yissss your D is obviously the coolest person ever! I was obsessed with dragons as a kid too!

Are you going to keep in touch with any other members or with the facilitators at all?

Get something xmas themed? Lil candy canes and gingerbread men!

Hiya @Snowie 👋 Hope you're keeping well hun! How's ya Monday?

Re: My Mosaic

Oh she is very dragon obsessed @Jynx! She has heaps of dragon Lego sets. All the wings of fire books and is desperate for a new one coming out very soon! Has a tshirt with dragons on it that says ‘in my dragon era’. And she is forever drawing different dragons! So yep. Obsessed

Hmm probably not keeping in touch. I mean one girl would be happy to sit and talk, but the other girl would never even try despite me trying. I even seen her a couple of times at comm mh and I kinda give the smile and nod to acknowledge and nothing ever reciprocated from her. I was just very different from them both. I realised this on day one. One was very emo, the other emo/rainbow. The facilitators, I could only ever Hope and wish my old psych who was one of the facilitators was able to pick me up again! But I doubt it. I know she will at least call me and arrange for me to come in and do some surveys and paper work post group, but that will happen after I get back.

I’ve thought about about Christmas themed ones. But I don’t know. Might search Pinterest later tonight for some ideas.

how was the rest of your weekend?

Re: My Mosaic

@Snowie Monday-itis strikes hard ay haha, well hope it flies by!

@Bow ahaha we'd get along famously your D and I! I used to have a whole SHELF of dragon statues and figurines when I was a kid.

Maybe when you go in for the paperwork, you can ask about any other groups or programs running next year that you could join!

Ooh do feel free to share when you pick something!

It was pretty chill, ended up going to provide some body doubling for my partner while they prepped for a work meeting. Was nice, just chillin on the couch, I was reading my emotionally tumultuous book about emotionally immature parents whilst they did their readings and stuff. How bout you, get up to much yesterday?
