Something’s not right

Had enough of this

Re: Had enough of this

Ohhhh @ArraDreaming ! Yes! I am a peer support worker here. Part-time. Some evenings each week.

Re: Had enough of this

Yeah I just realised that’s really cool, I think one day I want to get into peer work not as my full job but on the side @tyme

Re: Had enough of this

Why not @ArraDreaming ? It is SUPER cool.

Hence we are developing a Peer Pathways Program which supports people to gain the skills required to move into paid peer work employment.

I actually started as a volunteer Community Guide with SANE before moving into paid peer work. Best thing ever! It's so rewarding.

Re: Had enough of this

I could never move away from gardening/landscaping work @tyme but I’d still really like to use my experience  to help other people

not sure I’m understanding is that link to help support the project to upskill people? I got a bit lost half way through reading which reminded me that I hadn’t taken my adhd meds 😵💫😵💫

Re: Had enough of this

That's okay @ArraDreaming .

I mainly sent you the link to explain what the Peer Pathways Program is. It's just to give you some background info.

The consultation is more for people who want to have a say in what they want this program to look like. You can disregard this if you want.

Peer work is very rewarding.

By no means am I telling you to leave your passion for the garden - we need more people like you!

Re: Had enough of this

Ohh that’s cool! @tyme

One day I might get into it it’s cool that they have these programs and stuff now

Re: Had enough of this

The program is just beginning @ArraDreaming .

The mental health recommendation has found lived experience to be such a powerful tool in supporting people's recovery. Peer work is definitely becoming more recognised, and now, most mental health services employ a percentage of peer workers with lived experience.

Re: Had enough of this

@tyme that’s awesome! I didn’t know that, it’s So important
