For any croweaters about or those visiting SA there is a free exhibition at the SA museum of illustrations.

Whether they fly, swim, crawl, wiggle or walk, we are endlessly fascinated and inspired by the creatures of our world. The Art of Science showcases the uncommon beauty produced from 300 years of exacting scientific observation and illustration.

Re: ๐ŸŽจ .... ART. CLASS ..., ๐Ÿ–ผ

Re: ๐ŸŽจ .... ART. CLASS ..., ๐Ÿ–ผ

Acrylic paint is a fast-drying paint made of pigment suspended in acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic paints are water-soluble, but become water-resistant when dry.

Poster color is a water-soluble paint consisting of a color mixed with a binder such as glue or gum to give it a dull finish. An example of poster color is tempera paint.

Oil paint is a type of slow-drying paint that consists of particles of pigment suspended in a drying oil, commonly linseed oil. The viscosity of the paint may be modified by the addition of a solvent such as turpentine or white spirit, and varnish may be added to increase the glossiness of the dried oil paint film.

Gouache  colour or opaque watercolor, is one type of watermedia, paint consisting of pigment, water, a binding agent (usually dextrin or gum arabic), and sometimes additional inert material. Gouache is designed to be used with opaque methods of painting.

Watercolour, also aquarelle, is a painting method in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water-based solution.

thanks @Faith-and-Hope i come across these a day or so ago and forgot to ask about them. hadnt heard of them before and ive only used the acrylic and water colour paints. so much to learn!

have you used any of these other paints?

Re: ๐ŸŽจ .... ART. CLASS ..., ๐Ÿ–ผ

Yes @outlander .....

Poster paints in high school, and I love using gouache .... it doesnโ€™t feel like a watercolour cos it has more texture.

Re: ๐ŸŽจ .... ART. CLASS ..., ๐Ÿ–ผ

hmm that is interesting @Faith-and-Hope i done my first little canvas tonight too with acrylic paints.

have you been able to work on any of your arts?
