Self worth in family and groups

Hi all, im a borderline.

Male 23 yrs old from Australia.

I love my family my brothers and i are all  creative types.

My older brothers are succsessful musicians, i worked as a game developer philospher youth worker artist ect ect.. with varying success

But when they talk about their achievements and plans i feel hollow and ussless.

Even though i have acheved many things. They dont get much attention unless i bring them up.

Maybe its part of being the youngest, but makes me feel invisible which fills me with borderline rage that i have to supress.

All from a chill family gathering.

And i feel inconsolably small.

Love to hear if other borderlines have felt this and how they managed.

Re: Self worth in family and groups

Hi @Bronnodog and welcome to the forums. I don’t have bpd but I do have a sibling who is an adviser to the UN so I can relate to some of the feelings you have.

Our worth shouldn’t be measured by our achievements and it is hard not to be noticed by those we love.

Be kind to yourself this Christmas.
