Daily goals, motivation and check in

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@Loiter sometimes I wish I could get into video games. I tried, but not for me as bore easily. Maybe you can recommend a really good video game?

Goodluck on the job search. Work purpose can mean a lot even unpaid.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@SadUnicorn thank you, just finished my degree so I'm keen to get a job in my field!

As for video games, that's a hard question! I'm trying to think of my favourites that are easy for a non-gamer to get into. If you have an iPhone or iPad, I recommend Ghost Trick, it's a puzzle game based around Rube Goldberg-like contraptions and it has a really engaging detective story with great characters. I'm not much of a PC gamer, I prefer consoles, so it's hard to recommend something for computers, but I really enjoyed Beneath a Steel Sky, it's an old point-and-click adventure game set in a gritty sci-fi future Australia (!) and it's free to download on gog.com!

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@Loiter I do like SciFi. I am an Android man myself but will check Play Store to see if there to.

What is your field? It is good to engage work keen and passionate about. Free sounds good 🙂

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@SadUnicorn I double-checked before posting, it's only on iOS sadly 😞 It was originally a Nintendo DS game that received an iOS port. Apparently you can get Nintendo DS emulators on Android, but I have no idea how you'd set that up...

It's counselling, actually! 😅 Feel like the blind leading the blind sometimes, although in my classes we did talk about the special role of the "wounded healer"...

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hello @Teej @Maggie @Antelope @Loiter @Adge @Eve7 @WIP

I'm having a cup of tea and planning my day. Off to a slow start but that's ok.

First on the list:

  • yoga
  • shower
  • shopping list
  • write 2 emails

Then:

  • walk to library to pick up a book, and vinnies to drop a few things
  • top up brake fluid, which is a first
  • ironing

@SadUnicornI love the idea of 'wish goals' that I saw in your earlier post. So here goes:

  • Listen to a podcast
  • Write a letter
  • Early night

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi @frog @Teej @Maggie @Antelope @Loiter @Adge @Eve7 @WIP

@frog I tried yoga last Thursday in a spontaneous decision to wait for the class after exercise physio. The class was called Trauma Sensitive Yoga and I think it actually helped. S it is on next Thursday's to do list.

The early night thing is proving challenging, particularly with daylight saving change.

Today I had planed to get up early and do some work but still trying to get motivated for it.

Goal

Still try to do some work.

Hang out washing,

Eat a proper dinner.

Do some exercises and move enough.

Early night.

Wish Goal.

Find a good series on Netflix or Amazon

Have contact with at least one of the kids

Start writing a submission for Senate enquiry

Find something to be happy about

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Thanks for the tag @Shaz51 I’ve had a long day in hospital but I’m not as sedated as I was so my goal is to read David Copperfield in the next few days.

Love to all
