Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@tyme I saw on Ebay someone advertising a pre sale of the ANZAC day coin for $89.95, but it is only $22.50 at release.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

LOL @Mustang67 . People like to make their money.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@tyme I think most of them are just greedy.

You would think that Ebay shouldn't allow this since it is price gouging.

Love it @Mustang67

Also, I guess with Ebay, it's each to their own. Everyone is trying to make a dollar these days.

And for those interested in Butterflies @TAB, this is a Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus), also commonly known in Australia as the Wanderer. I have never heard the Monarch butterfly called the Wanderer before. Has anyone?

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@Mustang67 waiting for the photos, but yes I love butterflies 🥰.

I just looked at the mint website - they have a 6 week delay in posting orders currently 😮. But i guess the good thing is that an order can be secured so it would eventually arrive 😊. I've been told the tours of the mint are good, but i've never been.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@AlwaysMyself I have been to the Royal Australian Mint, but I didn't go on a tour. I just walked around and looked at the museum that gave a great history regarding how money became to be. There were spots where you could watch the coins being minted etc. And you could press your own coin. But the mint has had a big upgrade since I have been, so it would be so much better now.

Once I can walk again, I really want to go to the Perth mint and do a tour. I know they go into the gold and silver side of things in their tour as well. I find it all very interesting.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

..monarch was just what came to mind @Mustang67 re butterfly.

isnt Tuvalu underwater now? re coin ?

Tuvalu, a low-lying Pacific nation of 11,000+ people, is exceptionally vulnerable to climate change, facing existential threats from sea-level rise, coastal erosion, and saltwater intrusion. With land mostly just 2 meters above sea level, up to 95% of its main capital could be flooded by 2100

@PeppiPatty  would have used $1 and $2 notes , not much younger than me @Mustang67  she doesnt recall them maybe.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@TAB I didn't know that about Tuvalu. I did see something a little while ago about some islands that wouldn't exist in years to come, with the way things were going to do with climate change.
