Who to contact in Victoria for non-emergency help?

Re: Who to contact in Victoria for non-emergency help?

Understandable the brain injury caused that @down_not_out

I remember working with a man when I was at public health and he was about 80 and had had about 40 different jobs in his day. I found it hard to believe but apparently it was correct. Same thing - a brain injury at a young age.

It really sucks. Truly.

I want to donate my brain to an institute if they will take it. Hopefully some good will come of it. 😀

I have been an aircraft technician, car mechanic, postie, peer support worker, and rural taxi driver.

Re: Who to contact in Victoria for non-emergency help?

@down_not_out That's an impressive list of roles! I've been a journalist, admin in an ad agency, teachers aide, peer worker, Oh and a tour assistant for a Japanese travel company (LOVED that)

It's been really good chatting with you @down_not_out . What do you do with yourself during the day?

I have been doing some creative writing and cleaning the house. That is about it.

Did some Japanese lessons back in the early 90s but forgot it.

My wife is Vietnamese and I struggle with her language.

edit: I studied Japanese because I wanted to be a tour guide.

Re: Who to contact in Victoria for non-emergency help?

@down_not_out I can imagine how difficult Vietnamese is. It's very tonal. I find Japanese pretty straightforward as pronunciation is exactly as it reads. Hard to get your head around three alphabets though. It's interesting though. My son is a ski instructor and does the Japanese ski season. He loves it.

I studied German at school and it was easy. I give up on Vietnamese.

Can't even pronounce a single word correctly it seems. A real shame 😀

I need to write about some of the things I have been through, just for me to read.

Writing was a passion for me. I was a straight-A student at a rural private school and English was my favourite subject.

The car crash happened in year 9 in a paddock on a farm. After the accident, I could still manage high marks in Engish but lost the ability to do Maths and science.

I left school at the end of year 11 and took the first job I could find which was with an airline.

Re: Who to contact in Victoria for non-emergency help?

Such a shame @down_not_out . I'm so sorry that happened.

It is what it is, unfortunately.

I'm gonna take a shower and do some writing now. It was good to have a chat and I'm happy to do it again sometime.

Hoo roo.
